Request for SD INBRE Developmental Research Project Program (DRPP) Applications (RFA) for 2027-28
SD INBRE DRPP eligibility: Faculty at the following institutions are eligible to apply:
Faculty in the DRPP track must be either 1) early in their scientific career or 2) making a substantial change in their research focus. Applicants to this program cannot currently receive funding from another IDeA program (INBRE, COBRE, IDeA-CTR, etc.). DRPP applicants must serve in a faculty role at their institution.
This RFA is for faculty that are interested in serving as DRPP fellows in 2027-28. Interested faculty must meet with the DRPP Director (SD INBRE PD/PI) to discuss their research project, including their hypothesis, specific aims, and plans for using DRPP funding to apply for an external grant. The applicant and the DRPP Director will determine how the project aligns with the goals and objectives of SD INBRE and discuss the appropriate mechanism for funding (PP, RP-1, or RP-2). Applicants will then submit a one-page Specific Aims document for review by the External Advisory committee (EAC). The application guidelines and review process will be reviewed during the initial meeting between interested faculty and the DRPP Director.
Specific Aims are due by May 30, 2026
